US 287 Resurfacing: I-70 to 92nd Avenue
About the Project
The Colorado Department of Transportation in collaboration with prime contractor Brannan Sand and Gravel will be performing a resurfacing project on US 287 (Federal Boulevard) between I-70 and 92nd Avenue. The work zone stretches between Adams and Denver counties. The project is anticipated to begin in March 2025 and will end in February 2026.
Crews will operate on one section of US 287 at a time in the following three sections:
- Section 1 is between US 36 and 92nd Avenue
- Section 2 is between I-70 and I-76
- Section 3 is between US 36 and I-76
The project's primary goal will be resurfacing both north and southbound lanes using a mill and overlay processes. Additional construction operations will include:
- Improving concrete sidewalks and American with Disabilities Act ramps
- Upgrading traffic signals
- Rehabilitating the bridge deck over Clear Creek
- Improving drainage
- Performing permanent striping operations

Work Schedule
- Crews will primarily work daytime hours between 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., weekdays.
- Some night work and weekend may take place as needed until the end of the project.
- Lane impacts will vary during working hours to minimize disruptions to traffic.
Traffic Impacts
Motorists can expect the following impacts during the period of construction:
- - Traffic shifts throughout the project corridor with turn-lane, shoulder, single and double lane closures
- One through-lane of traffic in both directions will remain open at all times
- Delays up to 10 minutes can be expected - Some pedestrian walkways and crosswalks may be impacted. Please follow all on-site signage to navigate around temporary closures.
- Drivers are encouraged to slow down, leave plenty of following distance, and watch for crews and equipment.
- Loads wider than 11 feet may be impacted at times through the work zone
