US 50 Coaldale to Salida Resurfacing Project

About the Project:

The Colorado Department of Transportation, with its contract partner, ARY Corporation, will begin work on US 50 from Coaldale to Salida in mid April. The traveling public can expect daytime lane and shoulder closures. The project is scheduled for completion in fall of 2024. Project work consists of US 50 resurfacing from Coaldale to Salida from MP 222 to MP 241. Once complete, the project will improve drivability and provide safer driving conditions for motorists.

Work Schedule:

Different from the traffic impacts, this should be the general working hours and schedule of the project. 

  • Construction on the project is anticipated to take place April - December 2024
  • Working hours are 30 minutes after sunrise to 30 minutes before sunset, Monday to Friday

Traffic Impacts:

Motorists can expect the following impacts during the period of construction:

  • Work will occur during daytime hours, Monday through Friday.
  • Single lane closures and shoulder closures will take place within the work zone.
  • Reduced speeds in the work zone.
  • Plan ahead and expect delays.
  • Construction schedules are weather dependent.
  • The project is scheduled for completion in fall of 2024.
