US 50 Culvert Replacement in Montrose
About the Project
The Colorado Department of Transportation, in partnership with Ridgway Valley Enterprises, will begin work on the State Highway 50 culvert replacement project on Aug. 11, 2025. This project is located north of Montrose near the airport, from Mile Post 89.7 to MP 90.
Work consists of replacing existing steel culvert on Cedar Creek with concrete box culverts under US 50.
Shoulder closures and single-lane closures will be utilized until the detour route is built. The detour will divert northbound and southbound traffic to the east on the frontage road to maintain flowing traffic in both directions.
The project is expected to complete in June 2026.
