US 6 Resurfacing in Mesa County

About the Project

This project is located in Northwestern Colorado in Mesa County near Fruita on US 6 from MP 20 to MP 26. The scope includes a two-inch mill and fill from edge of asphalt to edge of asphalt west of 20 Road, and on through travel lanes east of 20 Road.

Additional work includes:

  • Removal and replacement of delineators
  • Striping configuration changes
  • Guardrail repairs
  • Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) minor updates

Work Schedule

  • Work hours are Sunday night through Friday morning from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.
  • Construction schedules are weather-dependent and subject to change

Traffic Impacts

Beginning Sept. 13, 2026, motorists and area residents can expect the following impacts: 

  • Single-lane closures with flagging operations and alternating one-way traffic
  • Shoulder closures
  • Reduced speeds in the work zone will be in place
  • Motorists are urged to slow down and drive with caution through the work zone
