US 85 & US 34 Interchange Improvements

About the Project

A planned winter shutdown is now in place for the US 85 and US 84 interchange improvements project that began Nov. 12. The planned winter shutdown is necessary to keep the traveling public and crews safe during winter weather conditions. During the 2024 construction season, crews located utilities and began preparing for overhead sign installation throughout the project limits.

Work will resume in early spring of 2025. Crews will complete the remaining safety improvements at the intersection of US 85 and US 34, known as Spaghetti Junction. Work includes improving signage and striping for better lane recognition. The shoulders will be widened, and new guardrails will be installed to enhance mobility and safety. The anticipated completion date is June of 2025.

Drivers are urged to stay alert and exercise caution in work zones. Maintaining attentiveness ensures the safety of all road users, including construction crews and fellow motorists.
