Waterline Work to Close Northbound Wadsworth Boulevard Under US 285 This Weekend

January 28, 2011 - TRAFFIC ADVISORY - Denver Metro Colorado/CDOT Region 6 - DENVER— Starting at 9 p.m. tonight, January 28th and continuing until 5 a.m. on Monday, January 31st, all lanes of northbound Wadsworth Boulevard under US 285 will be closed as part of a waterline relocation project being conducted by Denver Water.

During the closure, a detour route will be in place that takes motorists on eastbound US 285 to Sheridan Boulevard where they will return to westbound US 285 where access to northbound Wadsworth Boulevard is available.  Major delays are expected on Wadsworth Boulevard and on nearby roadways throughout the weekend and alternate routes are strongly suggested.

Following this weekend’s work, motorists can expect various single lane closures and potential full closures at the interchange over the next several weeks.  Standard working hours will be 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday with some weekend work.  Information will be released as the project progresses.

The relocation of the waterline will be complete in early March 2011.  The work is being coordinated with CDOT’s US 285 safety and mobility project between Federal Boulevard and Kipling Street.  E-mail updates are being sent out for both projects.  To sign up for the updates, visit www.coloradodot.info and click on the icon in the upper right-hand corner.  The link will take you to a list of items you can subscribe to including the US 285 Reconstruction Design-Build Project listed under “Projects.
