Bridge Deck Work to Close Westbound Arapahoe Road Near Parker Road Tomorrow

February 25, 2011 - TRAFFIC ADVISORY - ARAPAHOE COUNTY – Tomorrow, Saturday, February 26th, weather permitting, the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will install bridge deck panels for the portion of the new Parker Road bridge over westbound Arapahoe Road.

The work will require a full closure of westbound Arapahoe Road at Parker Road from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

“By working a full day tomorrow, we will be able to make up some of the time we lost during several weeks of inclement weather and complete the majority of the work in one day rather than over several nights,” said CDOT Project Engineer Ed Bullard.  “While a detour will be in place, access to all of the shopping centers will still be available throughout the entire day.”

During the closure, motorists on westbound Arapahoe Road will take Lewiston Way north around Arapahoe Crossings mall to the traffic signal at Parker Road.

Delays are expected on Saturday and alternate routes are strongly advised.  CDOT would like to remind motorists to obey all construction signs and flaggers and to “Slow for the Cone Zone.”

Hamon Constructors, Inc. is the contractor for this $32 million project, which should be complete by the end of November 2011.
