Railroad Crossing Work to Close State Highway 52 in Hudson Next Week

May 24, 2011 - TRAFFIC ADVISORY - Northeastern Colorado/CDOT Region 4 - HUDSON— Starting at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, May 31st and continuing until 5 p.m. on Friday, June 3rd, all lanes of State Highway (SH) 52 at milepost 29.37 in Hudson will be closed to allow the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad to repair the crossing.

Once the work on the railroad crossing is complete, the Colorado Department of Transportation will smooth out the approaches to the crossing.

During the closure, an eight-mile detour route will be in place that takes motorists to the I-76 frontage road where they will travel northeast to Weld County Road (WCR) 51.  Once on WCR 51, travel south to SH 52.  Motorists can also travel southeast on the I-76 frontage road to WCR 8.  Travel east on WCR 8 to WCR 45 and then travel north to SH 52.

The closure will be in place 24 hours a day until 5 p.m. on June 3rd.  Updates will be sent should weather delay the completion or if the work is completed early.
