Highway 36 Project Going on Hold for Harvest

July 21, 2011 - Central Eastern Colorado/CDOT Region 1 - ADAMS & ARAPAHOE COUNTIES – Paving operations on U.S. 36 between the Watkins area and Bennett will be shutting down again tomorrow (Friday, July 22) for the resumption of harvest.

Work originally was suspended in early July to allow farm vehicles to travel unimpeded through the area.  However, the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) resumed operations after harvest traffic never materialized due to excessive rain over the last couple of weeks.

Paving is scheduled to resume on Thursday, July 28, with operations proceeding eastward from the Manila Road area towards Bennett.

Project completion is expected by the end of August.
