Informational Public Meeting Scheduled for Wednesday to Discuss Upcoming Project at I-25/State Highway 392

July 11, 2011 - Northeastern Colorado/CDOT Region 4 - LARIMER/WELD COUNTY – On Wednesday, July 13th, the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will host an informational public meeting regarding the I-25/State Highway (SH) 392 interchange improvement project that will begin in late July or early August 2011.

The meeting will take place from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Windsor Recreation Center, located at 250 N. 11th Street in Windsor, CO.  Representatives from CDOT, the City of Fort Collins, the Town of Windsor, and CDOT’s contractor will be in attendance to answer questions about the upcoming project.

“This is a great opportunity for residents, businesses and commuters to learn about the project and the traffic impacts during construction,” said CDOT Project Engineer Gray Currier.  “This will be an open-house format, so folks can drop by any time during the two-hour meeting to review the material and ask questions.”

The project will replace the SH 392 bridge over I-25 with one that is wider to accommodate two lanes in each direction as well as a left-turn lane in each direction.  There will also be a six-foot bike lane and a 6.5-foot sidewalk on each side of the bridge.  The frontage road on the west side of the interchange will be realigned, and the ramps will be designed to accommodate more traffic.  In addition, an expanded 90-space carpool/vanpool lot will be constructed in the southwest corner of the interchange.
