State Highway 13 to be Resurfaced Next Week

July 27, 2011 - Northwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 3 - GARFIELD COUNTY — Next week, the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will resurface State Highway (SH) 13 four miles north of Rifle from MM 12 to MM 16.

On August 1 and August 2 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day, CDOT crews will resurface SH 13 with an asphalt overlay. Severe winters combined with heavy truck traffic in the area have damaged the road and the asphalt overlay will help preserve the lifespan of this stretch of highway. For their safety, motorists are urged to reduce speeds through the work zone and obey all flaggers.

Traffic Impacts: Slowing and single lane, alternating traffic from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on August 1 and August 2. Motorists may experience delays of up to 15 minutes depending on traffic volumes.

CDOT would like to remind motorists to obey all construction signs and flaggers, and to drive Slow for the Cone Zone. To receive updates about road conditions in the area, visit www.coloradodot.info/ and click on the green cell phone icon in the upper right hand corner of the page.
