Ramp Closed Again Next Week

JEFFERSON COUNTY – The ramp bridge from southbound SH 8 to northbound U.S. 285 needs about another week of repairs but will reopen this afternoon by 4:30 and remain open through the weekend.

It will close again at 7 a.m. on Monday, August 15, and remain closed to traffic until 4:30 p.m. on Friday, August 19.

DETOUR: U.S. 285 south to South Turkey Creek Road (Tiny Town), south to North Turkey Creek Road, and west to northbound U.S. 285.

“There’s a lot more damage on that bridge than we expected,” says Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) Resident Engineer Steve Harelson.  “Hopefully, we’ll have all the repairs completed by the end of next week.”

Repairs on the ramp bridge from northbound U.S. 285 to northbound SH 8 begin during the following week, from 7 a.m. on Monday, August 22, to 4:30 p.m. on Friday, August 26.

DETOUR: Continue north on U.S. 285 to C-470, northbound C-470 to U.S. 285 southbound, southbound U.S. 285 to SH 8.

The bridge work is part of an upcoming paving project on SH 8 between U.S. 285 and Morrison.
