Railroad Repairs to Close US 34 in Brush on September 6 and 7

September 2, 2011 - TRAFFIC ADVISORY - Northeastern Colorado/CDOT Region 4 - MORGAN COUNTY — Next Tuesday, September 6 and Wednesday, September 7, US 34 will be closed at mile marker (MM) 173 in Brush to allow for railroad repairs.

To complete the work, US 34 will be closed beginning at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday until crews have finished repairs as late as Wednesday night. Crews from Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway will work around the clock to minimize closure impacts and to finish the repairs as quickly as possible

In order to smooth the roadway surrounding the train tracks, both eastbound and westbound US 34 traffic will be rerouted to County Road 29, Mill Street, and then to Colorado Boulevard.

For their safety and the safety of crews, motorists are urged to slow down in the vicinity of the road work. There are no oversize/overweight restrictions at this time. CDOT would like to remind motorists to obey all road signs and flaggers, and to drive Slow for the Cone Zone.
