Bridge Deck Work on US 6 in Eagle to Take Place Tomorrow

October 14, 2011 - Northwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 3 - Work will being done in an effort to pave the detour before winter.

EAGLE COUNTY — Tomorrow, Saturday, October 15, 2011 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., crews from the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will perform deck work on the Eagle River Bridge on US 6, one mile east of the roundabout at Eby Creek Road in Eagle. As opposed to weekday project work, Saturday will require the use of only one machine and traffic will likely not be impacted.

CDOT is taking advantage of the warm fall weather to not only keep the project on schedule, but also to help better prepare the bridge for paving before winter weather arrives. If the work is accomplished successfully before winter, the paved bridge will provide a much more durable ride for motorists than the existing gravel.

In addition to tomorrow’s work, CDOT will also try to perform additional work the following days (weather permitting):

  • Saturday, October 22
  • Saturday, November 19
  • Saturday, November 26

CDOT would like to remind motorists to obey all road signs and flaggers, and to drive Slow for the Cone Zone. To receive email or text updates about road conditions in the area, visit www.coloradodot.info/ and click on the green cell phone icon in the upper right hand corner of the page.
