Upcoming Maintenance Projects in Pikes Peak Region

November 14, 2011 - Southeastern Colorado/CDOT Region 2 - EL PASO COUNTY – The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) is conducting preventative maintenance operations at various locations in the greater Colorado Springs area this week.

Tuesday, November 15, through Wednesday, November 16: One lane closed on northbound Interstate 25 over South Academy Boulevard, for bridge deck repairs.  Work hours are 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.  Some slowing should be anticipated through the area.

Tuesday, November 15, through Wednesday, November 16: Flaggers stopping traffic on at various locations on northbound and southbound State Highway 83, beginning at Walden Way and continuing north to County Line Road, for crack sealing operations.  Work hours are 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.  Delays up to five minutes should be expected.

Crack sealing provides several benefits to the roadway surface: seals cracks, prevents water intrusion and pavement deterioration, and extends the life of the pavement.

Wednesday, November 16, through Thursday, November 17: Left lane closed on westbound U.S. 24, just prior to I-25, on Wednesday.  Right lane closed on westbound U.S. 24, just west of Peterson Boulevard, on Thursday.  Both closures are for guardrail repairs.  Work hours both days are 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Motorists are reminded to please Slow for the Cone Zone, stay alert and pay attention to and obey all work zone/advisory signs and flaggers.
