CDOT Begins Weekly Memorial to People Killed in Crashes

January 26, 2016 - Traffic Safety - Digital Signs Provide Tally Every Wednesday.

Statewide — Starting Wednesday, Jan. 27, the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will display a weekly tally of the year-to-date deaths on Colorado roadways. The Wednesday Memorial will be paired with safety messages aimed at reducing crashes. The messages will appear each Wednesday on digital message signs on highways across the state. According to preliminary data, fatalities are up more than 11 percent, from 488 in 2014 to 545 in 2015.
