Closure of CR 308/I-70 Frontage Road extended to downsize and haul rock from earlier rock slide

September 23, 2016 - Denver Metro Colorado/CDOT Region 1 - CLEAR CREEK COUNTY– The closure of County Road 308 just east of the US 40/Empire exit and just west of the Town of Lawson that was scheduled to conclude on Friday, September 23 at 5:00 p.m., has been extended to Tuesday, September 27 due to an excavator malfunction.

Work will be from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Monday, September 26 and Tuesday, September 27.

Yenter Company and CDOT maintenance have been downsizing and hauling rock from the CR 308 rock slide that occurred earlier this summer since Monday, September 19. This work is necessary to restore ditch capacity along CR 308 in order to contain potential rock fall from this rock cut in the future. Local businesses and residential access will not be impacted by this closure.

ALTERNATE ROUTE:

During this closure, motorists are encouraged to utilize the alternate route of I-70 and Alvarado Road.
