Closure Set for Intersection of Lebanon Rd. & US 491

September 30, 2016 - Southwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 5 - CORTEZ, CO – Improvements to the Lebanon Rd. intersection at US 491 will require closing Lebanon Rd. beginning next Wednesday, October 5 and continuing until approximately October 26.

TRAFFIC IMPACTS: Lebanon Rd. will be closed to all traffic from the Carpenter Nature Area access road, west to US 491. The closure will begin at the intersection of Lebanon Rd and L Rd, still allowing local traffic moving west.  There will be no access to Lebanon Rd. for traffic eastbound from US 491 during the closure. Northbound traffic on US 491 will instead be directed to continue north and use the L Rd. intersection to travel east.

Access to the Carpenter Nature Area access road will be maintained during the closure.

Although trail parking will be maintained, during October some portions of the trail will be closed to hikers and bikers to allow wetland mitigation work to be completed.

Improvements to the Lebanon Rd./US 491 intersection will improve safety by constructing Lebanon Rd. perpendicular to US 491 and pedestrian crosswalks will be added.

Please continue to drive slowly through the work zone as our improvements to North Broadway continue.
