Segment of Indiana Avenue to Close Half Day for Bridge Construction

September 21, 2016 - Southeastern Colorado/CDOT Region 2 - PUEBLO —The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) and contractor Flatiron Constructors, Inc. are temporarily closing a segment of Indiana Avenue beneath Interstate-25 between Evans Avenue and I-25 northbound on- and off-ramps Tuesday, September 27 from 7:30 a.m. to 12 noon.

The short-term closure is to facilitate construction necessary to complete the Indiana bridge rehabilitation project.

Motorists wanting to access Indiana Avenue on the east side of I-25 will be detoured south on I-25 to Exit 94 (Pueblo Boulevard) then to northbound I-25.

Motorists wanting to access Indiana Avenue on the west side of I-25 will be detoured to Exit 97A (Central Avenue) to southbound I-25.

The I-25 Ilex Street to City Center Drive project is the first project of the New Pueblo Freeway: the reconstruction of I-25 between City Center Drive (1st Street) and Ilex Street through downtown Pueblo. Construction includes upgrading a number of bridges south of downtown. The project began in July 2015, and is expected to be completed in 2018.
