Traffic Shift Southbound Santa Fe Avenue (US 50 C) Begins November 14

November 8, 2016 - Southeastern Colorado/CDOT Region 2 - PUEBLO —The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) and contractor Flatiron Constructors, Inc. are shifting southbound Santa Fe Avenue (US 50C) traffic onto the adjacent bridge for northbound Santa Fe Avenue over the Arkansas River beginning Monday, November 14, 2016.

This traffic switch will be in place through April 2017 while construction occurs on the Truss bridge.

There will be dedicated single northbound and southbound lanes, and speeds reduced to 25 mph. A pedestrian sidewalk will be maintained on the northbound side of the road at all times.

The new traffic configuration will be in place 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Normal working hours will be 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Friday. Slight traffic delays are expected.

The I-25 Ilex Street to City Center Drive project is the first project of the New Pueblo Freeway: the reconstruction of I-25 between City Center Drive (1st Street) and Ilex Street through downtown Pueblo. Construction includes upgrading a number of bridges south of downtown. The project began in July 2015, and is expected to be completed in 2018.
