US 85 Guardrail project set to end ahead of schedule

December 13, 2016 - Denver Metro Colorado/CDOT Region 1 - BRIGHTON — Residents of Brighton will be getting an early gift this holiday season from the Colorado Department of Transportation. The US 85 Guardrail project will end ahead of its late December scheduled completion date.

Throughout the week of Dec. 12, crews will finish last minute work and plan to re-open the construction area to thru traffic on the afternoon of Friday, Dec. 16. Crews will open Kuner Road and will cease construction on US 85 and Kuner Road. Both CDOT and its prime contractor, Concrete Express, Inc., would like to thank the public for their cooperation during this project.

BACKGROUND

The CDOT US 85 Guardrail project includes the installation of guardrail, curb and gutter, electrical conduit, and fiber optic line, as well as excavation and removal of fence. This project will improve safety of motorists and provide additional aesthetic improvements as requested by the City of Brighton.
