Traffic Shift on Northern Avenue Bridge Over I-25 Begins April 13

April 10, 2017 - Southeastern Colorado/CDOT Region 2 - PUEBLO —The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) and contractor Flatiron Constructors, Inc. will shift traffic on the Northern Avenue bridge over I-25 to the outside lanes beginning 7 a.m. Thursday, April 13.

Traffic will be reduced to a single lane in both directions, and speeds reduced to 25 mph.

This traffic switch will be in place through end of May while construction occurs on the inner/central lanes.

The new traffic configuration will be in place 24 hours-a-day, 7 days-a-week. Normal working hours will be 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Friday. Slight traffic delays are expected, and motorists are urged to use extra caution while traveling in the new traffic pattern.

PROJECT INFORMATION: The I-25 Ilex Street to City Center Drive project is the first project of the New Pueblo Freeway: the reconstruction of I-25 between City Center Drive (1st Street) and Ilex Street through downtown Pueblo. Construction includes upgrading several bridges south of downtown. The project began in July 2015, and is expected to be completed in 2018.
