Expect 30-Minute Traffic Delays Dec. 20 on US 160 Wolf Creek Pass for Rockfall Mitigation

Dec. 19, 2017 -

SOUTHWEST COLORADO—
On Wednesday, Dec. 20, motorists can expect 30-minute delays due to traffic stops on eastbound and westbound US Highway 160, near the summit of Wolf Creek Pass, as crews perform rockfall mitigation. Crews have found areas on the west side of the pass, which require the clearing of loose rock and debris.

Westbound travelers will be stopped at mile point (MP) 166.5, while eastbound travelers will be stopped near MP 157. Please be aware of signage, flaggers, maintenance workers and heavy equipment.

CDOT engineering and maintenance crews are persistent to identify areas along Southwest Colorado roadways that may be prone to rock falls. Any loose surface material on a cliff or slope could present unexpected rock fall hazards for motorists on the highway.
