I-25 Closed Overnight in Pueblo to Prep for Bridge Work

PUEBLO—Motorists traveling overnight Wednesday, July on should expect delays as traffic in both directions will be reduced to one lane between 29th Street and 13th Street.

Starting at 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 5, one lane in each direction of I-25 will be closed for restriping as crews prepare for bridge rehabilitation work. Lanes are scheduled to be open by 5 a.m. Thursday, July 6.

Bridge Rehab Work

July 6: Bridge rehabilitation will begin on I-25 at the Belmont Interchange (US 50) between 29th Street and 13th Street. Speed limits will be reduced to 45 mph during the day within the work zone. This portion of the project is expected to last through the summer.

This work is part of the $10 million, CO 96 (4th Street) improvement project, which includes intersection renovation, signal replacement, resurfacing and bridge rehabilitation. Work began in July and will improve surface quality, enhance safety and provide improved pedestrian crossings—including upgrading ADA ramps to current standards. The project is scheduled to be complete by the end of 2017.

The CO 96 project is an active construction area. Access on the project site is restricted unless accompanied by a Colorado Department of Transportation representative.
