CDOT begins fog and chip seal project on CO 13 next week

Rio Blanco County- The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) and contractor United Companies will begin a fog and chip seal project on Colorado Highway (CO) 13, from mile point (MP) 20 - MP 37, between Rifle and Meeker.  The project is scheduled to begin Monday, June 11, 2018 and has an anticipated completion date the end of July 2018.

This $1.25 million project will include full width fog seal, chip seal on drive lanes, deep patching, rumble strip installation, and pavement marking.  The chip and fog seal maintenance will help preserve the life of the asphalt and repair the asphalt that already exists.

TRAVEL AND ACCESS IMPACTS: Motorists can expect north and southbound one-lane alternating traffic with 20 minute delays and a speed limit reduction of 35 mph.  The project will be in operation Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 7:00 pm.
