Closures Set June 17-21 for Bridge Repairs on I-25 at US 50B

PUEBLO—Travelers can expect the following closures Sunday, June 17 through Thursday, June 21, as part of bridge work on the I-25/US 50B interchange project:

Sunday, June 17

  • Crews will reduce both directions of I-25 to one lane.
  • Expect the southbound I-25 on- and off-ramps to be closed through Thursday, June 21.
  • Speeds will be reduced to 45 mph through the work zone.

From 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., Monday, June 18 through Thursday, June 21

  • Crews will close the westbound US 50B southbound on-ramp.
  • Traffic will be detoured onto the northbound on-ramp to I-25 to the 29th Street exit, where travelers can head south on I-25.
  • Crews will close the southbound I-25 exit 100A off-ramp.
  • Traffic will be detoured to the 13th Street interchange during the closure.
  • Speeds will be reduced to 45 mph through the work zone.

This work is part of the $10 million, CO 96 (4th Street) improvement project, which includes intersection renovation, signal replacement, resurfacing and bridge rehabilitation. Work began in July 2017 and will improve surface quality, enhance safety and provide improved pedestrian crossings—including upgrading ADA ramps to current standards. The project is scheduled to be complete in June 2018.

The CO 96 project is an active construction area. Access on the project site is restricted unless accompanied by a CDOT representative. Your safety is important to us, so please coordinate access requests in advance with the project team. A safe area for interviews, b-roll, etc., and a project team member will be designated for escort and will coordinate the appropriate personal protective equipment. We appreciate your cooperation.
