Temporary Traffic Configuration Starts Wednesday for Redlands Roundabout Project

June 25, 2018 - Allow extra commute time as delays expected

MESA COUNTY—Travelers can expect a temporary traffic switch the morning of Wednesday, June 27, 2018, at the temporary roundabout, intersection of CO 340 (Broadway) and Redlands Parkway.  The temporary configuration is expected to last approximately seven days and will return to the temporary roundabout configuration Tuesday, July 3, 2018.

In an effort to construct the south leg of the roundabout, between the car wash and permanent concrete wall, traffic will be switched into a temporary configuration. Crews will pour the south leg of the roundabout in one monolithic pour and extra time will be needed to allow the new concrete to cure and gain strength.

TRAVEL IMPACTS

  • Monday 6/25 - Tuesday 6/26:
    • All directions of traffic will use the temporary roundabout configuration 24/7.
  • Beginning Wednesday 6/27- Tuesday 7/3 (for seven days) new temporary traffic configuration:
    • Southbound traffic will only be allowed to travel west on CO 340 or can detour onto Green Belt.
    • Northbound traffic needing to go north will enter the temporary roundabout and proceed west for 200 ft and then head north.
    • Motorists can detour onto Green Belt or South Rim to avoid the construction zone during temporary traffic configuration.
