CDOT Begins Sign-Replacement Project on Colorado Highways 72 & 74

March 8, 2018 - Speed limits to be strictly enforced

Crews have started a sign-replacement project on Colorado Highway 72 from mile point (MP) 18.0 to MP 29.3, and on CO 74 from MP 6.8 to 18.1. Work is anticipated to be completed in summer 2018.

This $300,000 project will include replacing 300 highway signs on CO 72 and 600 highway signs on CO 74. The updates will include larger speed limit signs, curve warning signs, and replacement of damaged signs. These updates will help promote safety along the highway.

Travel Impacts

Motorists can expect east and westbound shoulder closures and some east and westbound single lane closures throughout the project limits.

The project will be in operation from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Mondays through Thursdays, with occasional work from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Fridays.
