Expect Lane and Ramp Closures on I-25 from 120th to 144th Avenues

ADAMS COUNTY—
From 8 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. overnight Sunday, March 11 through Friday, March 16, crews will close lanes and ramps on southbound I-25 as part of the North I-25 Express Lanes: 120th Avenue to Northwest Parkway/E-470 project as they install barrier and perform emergency pothole repair.

Motorists should plan to add 10 minutes to their travel time to detour around the closures. All work is weather permitting and subject to change.

Traffic Impacts & Detour

  • 8 p.m. Sunday, March 11 to 5:30 a.m. Monday, March 12
    The right lane of southbound I-25 between 144th Avenue and 136th Avenue will closed, as will the southbound I-25 off-ramp to 136th Avenue. To detour around this closure, motorists should exit southbound I-25 at 144th Avenue, travel west on 144th Avenue to Huron Street, and then travel south on Huron Street to reach 136th Avenue.
  • 8 p.m. Monday, March 12 to 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 13
    The right lane of southbound I-25 will be closed between 144th Avenue and 136th Avenue, as will the southbound I-25 off-ramp to 136th Avenue. To detour around this closure, motorists should exit southbound I-25 at 144th Avenue, travel west on 144th Avenue to Huron Street, and then travel south on Huron Street to reach 136th Avenue. Motorists can also expect intermittent lane closures on northbound I-25 between Community Center Drive and CO 7 from 10 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.
  • 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 13 to 5:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 14
    The 144th Avenue on-ramp to southbound I-25 will be closed. To detour around this closure, motorists should travel west on 144thAvenue, south on Orchard Parkway, then travel east on 136th Avenue to enter southbound I-25.
  • 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 14 to 5:30 a.m. Thursday, March 15
    Expect a 1,500-foot single-right-lane closure on southbound I-25 at the 136th Avenue on-ramp and a closure of 136th Avenue on-ramp to southbound I-25. To detour around this closure, motorists should travel west on 136th Avenue to Huron Street, proceed south on Huron Street to 120th Avenue, then travel east on 120th Avenue to reach southbound I-25. Motorists can also expect intermittent lane closures on northbound I-25 between Community Center Drive and CO 7 from 10 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.
  • 8 p.m. Thursday, March 15 to 5:30 a.m. Friday, March 16
    Expect intermittent lane closures on southbound I-25 between Community Center Drive and CO 7 from 10 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.

Project Information

The North I-25 Express Lanes project from 120thAvenue to Northwest Parkway/E-470 is a $97.5 million project that will improve safety, capacity and user choice to a rapidly developing region. 

This project will continue the previous Express Lanes project, which was completed on I-25 between US 36 and 120thAvenue, and will extend the Express Lanes to Northwest Parkway/E-470. The project will add capacity on I-25 up to Northwest Parkway/E-470 and construct a new asphalt surface from 120th Avenue to Colorado Highway 7. Motorists can expect the roadway to be in its final alignment by winter 2018. 

Construction will take place from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, with periodic night and weekend work. Motorists can expect various lane closures on both northbound and southbound I-25 as well as periodic ramp closures. Traffic will be maintained during peak travel times throughout construction.
