US 85 Resurfacing from Eaton to Ault Project Team to Host Open House March 28

March 22, 2018 - Work on project to resume beginning of April

WELD COUNTY—
To kick off the spring resumption of work on the US 85 Resurfacing from Eaton to Ault Project, the project team will host an open house from 6-7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 28, at Eaton Town Hall (223 1st St.).

Traffic Impacts

  • Work is expected to resume the first week of April.
  • Expect shifts in traffic movement and temporary lane closures.
  • From May through early June, the Town of Eaton will be improving sidewalks.

The public is encouraged to attend the event to learn more about the project and meet with representatives of the construction project management team. Representatives from Eaton will also attend to answer questions about the sidewalk work.

"We ran into some unforeseen problems with the materials below the roadway in 2017, and to correctly reconstruct the roadway, the project needed to be extended. CDOT, the contractor, and the local agencies have been working extremely hard to ensure that the roadway is constructed to a high quality to enhance the lives of the traveling public and the towns that serve them," CDOT Project Engineer Anthony Anderson said.

Project Info

The project started in May 2017 and is scheduled for completion at the end of July 2018. CDOT will extend paving through Eaton and Ault to connect with the new section of highway between Ault and the Wyoming border.
