CO 392 Northbound On-Ramp to I-25 Closed Nov. 9-12 for Ramp Removal, Replacement

Nov. 1, 2018 - Weekend Closure to Eliminate Need for More Than 20 Nighttime Closures

WINDSOR—From 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9 through 5 a.m. Monday, Nov. 12, crews will close the northbound on-ramp from Colorado Highway 392 to I-25 as they remove and replace the existing ramp.

This weekend closure eliminates the need to schedule more than 20 overnight closures to accomplish the same scope of work.

Construction during this closure includes removing the old ramp pavement, reconditioning the subgrade, placing new concrete pavement, relocating the ramp metering system, and adding temporary asphalt paving and striping.

Detour

To access northbound I-25 from CO 392 during the closure, head east on CO 392 to County Road 5. Turn north on County Road 5, and continue north for three miles to Harmony Road. Turn left onto Harmony Road and proceed west to the northbound I-25 on-ramp.

Project Info

The I-25 North Express Lanes: Johnstown to Fort Collins project will increase capacity by adding an Express Lane in both directions, replacing four aging bridges and widening four additional bridges. The project will also improve multimodal access to regional transit to promote mode shift, improve bus service performance by adding new bus slip ramps from I-25 to the new Park-n-Ride at Kendall Parkway, create new pedestrian and bicycle access under I-25 at Kendall Parkway, and construct new bridges over the Cache la Poudre River—allowing for the future completion of the regional trail. The project is expected to be completed in 2021.
