Southwest Colorado Avalanche Control Ops: Wolf Creek Pass Now Open, US 550 Red Mountain Pass Closed

US 160 Wolf Creek Pass Is Open:
As of 8:00 a.m., Wolf Creek Pass is open. Avalanche control operations are completed.
US 550 Red Mountain Pass Is Closed:
As of 8:00 a.m., Red Mountain Pass is closed. Avalanche control operations are in progress.
Motorists can also expect a lengthy delay this morning. Avalanche mitigation will take place on the south side of Red Mountain Pass and will continue for much of the morning. Motorists may experience up to a 4-hour delay.
Northbound traffic will be stopped just outside of Silverton at, mile point (MP) 71. Southbound traffic will be stopped near the Red Mountain Pass summit, MP 80.
