Detour Routes for Aspen Road Closure on CDOT US 50C (Santa Fe Ave./Dr.) 4th St. to Baxter Road Overlay and Drainage Project

March 12, 2019

PUEBLO, CO — As part of the US 50C (Santa Fe Ave./Dr.) 4th St. to Baxter Road Overlay and Drainage project, the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) and contractor Tony J. Beltramo & Sons, Inc. are currently working to improve drainage on US 50C in the area of Aspen Road.

Businesses directly impacted by the Aspen Road closure may be accessed via detour routes. All business access will be maintained during this project. Businesses will not be accessible on US 50C and motorists shall follow detour routes until Aspen Road re-opens. Detour routes will also be posted on signage within the project zone.

To access businesses located in the Aspen Square Shopping Center (at Aspen Road and US 50C), motorists will use the following detour routes:

  • Motorists traveling eastbound on US 50C will continue past the shopping center on US 50C and make a right turn onto Delta St., followed by a right onto Independence Dr., and will take another right onto Bent St., where they will make a left turn into the shopping center.

  • Motorists traveling westbound on US 50C will take a left turn onto Eagle St., a right onto Independence Dr. and will take another right onto Bent St., where they will make a left turn into the shopping center.

PROJECT SCHEDULE

This project is located on US 50C (Santa Fe Ave./Dr.) between mile point (MP) 0.04 (4th St.) and MP 7.37 (Baxter Road). During the first phase of this project, motorists will experience single lane closures on US 50C in each direction and a northbound closure at Aspen Road and US 50C, requiring a detour. Aspen Road at US 50C is expected to remain closed for the next five weeks, weather dependent. Drainage work will continue on US 50C from Aspen Road to Carson St. and other work to improve ADA ramps will require additional road closures in the project zone.
