I-70B Third Street to Sixth Street Improvements | Design Phase
About the Project
The Colorado Department of Transportation finalized the design phase of the I-70B East of Third Street Improvements in Grand Junction, which is located on I-70B from approximately Third Street to Sixth Street. Construction of the safety and mobility improvements for this area (Phase 7 of construction) is planned to start in early 2026. The final design includes improved street connections, multimodal improvements, signal replacement, utility infrastructure improvements, lighting enhancements and landscaping enhancements.
The project is the next in a series of phased improvements on I-70B. It follows the I-70B South of Rood Improvement Project (Phase 6). Construction on Phase 6 started in 2024 and is anticipated to be complete in 2025.
