This is a culvert improvement project at 19 sites throughout six southwestern Colorado counties.

Improvements will take place in the following counties:

  • Archuleta
  • Conejos
  • La Plata
  • Montezuma
  • Rio Grande

Project Benefits

The new technology used in this project provides the following benefits:

  • Extends the longevity of critical road infrastructure
  • Lowers the risks associated with water runoff and flooding
  • Maintains safe driving conditions for motorists
  • Allows for the existing pipe to stay operational and in place with no excavation or trenching needed

  • Fewer impacts to traveling public

Work Schedule

  • Normal working hours Monday through Friday 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Some weekend work is expected

Traffic Impacts

  • Expect brief delays at portable traffic signal with 24/7 alternating traffic
  • Motorists can expect alternating traffic with short delays
  • Traffic signals will be used while work is in progress at each site
  • Speed limits will be reduced through the work zones
