The purpose of these manuals is to provide an official guide to CDOT Field forces for the sampling and testing of materials on construction projects and the subsequent documentation. Manuals are organized by year.
- 2026 Field Materials Manual - To be used on projects advertised on or after July 1, 2025.
- 2025 Field Materials Manual - Addendum - To be used on projects advertised between January 1, 2025 and June 30, 2025.
- 2025 Field Materials Manual - BABA - To be used on projects with a federal funding obligation date for the construction phase on or after October 1, 2024, and that contain the Revision of Sections 101 and 106 - Buy American and Build America, Buy America Requirements for Projects Containing $500,000 or More in Federal-Aid Highway Funding (January 8, 2024); or the Revision of Sections 101 and 106 Buy America and Build America, Buy America Requirements for Projects Containing Federal-Aid Highway Funding in the Amount Less Than $500,000 (January 8, 2024).
- 2024 Field Materials Manual - BABA - To be used on projects with a federal funding obligation date for the construction phase between October 23, 2023 and October 1, 2024 and that contain the Revision of Sections 101 and 106 - Buy American and Build America, Buy America Requirements for Projects Containing $500,000 or More in Federal-Aid Highway Funding (January 8, 2024); or the Revision of Sections 101 and 106 Buy America and Build America, Buy America Requirements for Projects Containing Federal-Aid Highway Funding in the Amount Less Than $500,000 (January 8, 2024).
- 2024 Field Materials Manual - To be used on projects advertised after July 1, 2023, and on those projects with a federal funding authorization date for the construction phase that has occurred prior to October 23, 2023.
- 2023 Field Materials Manual - BABA - To be used on projects advertised between November 10, 2022 and June 30, 2023. Revised November 11, 2022, with the new Build America Buy America Requirements [BABA] requirements.
- 2023 Field Materials Manual - To be used on projects advertised between July 1, 2022 and November 10, 2022. Revised September 19, 2022 with editorial revisions.
The purpose of the Pavement Design Manuals is to provide CDOT and consulting designers with uniform and detailed procedures for designing pavements on CDOT highway projects.
2025-B Pavement Design Manual - Note: The Pavement Design Manual published July 1, 2025 had an error on Tables 2.4, 2.5 and 2.6 concerning the Design Life and the Rutting Thresholds. Corrections have been made to the current manual, the corrected Design Life and Rutting Thresholds shall be used on all pavement analysis/designs from July 1, 2025 to July 1, 2026.
The purpose of these manuals is to provide an official guide to CDOT Independent Assurance Tester Technicians, whether the individuals are CDOT personnel or consultants, for the sampling and testing of materials on construction projects and the subsequent documentation.
