Emergency Roadway Repairs to Close Northbound I-25 Near Alameda Tonight

March 25, 2011 - TRAFFIC ADVISORY - Denver Metro Colorado/CDOT Region 6 - DENVER —Tonight, March 25th, the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will conduct emergency roadway repairs on northbound I-25 near Alameda Avenue.

As a result, one lane of northbound I-25 will be closed at 7 p.m. with a second lane closing at 8 p.m. and all lanes closing at 11 p.m.  All lanes will reopen by 5:30 a.m. on Saturday.

“We have some roadway damage on northbound I-25 that we need to fix before the weekend,” said CDOT Project Engineer Terrie McKinney.  “Unfortunately, the road damage crosses all lanes of northbound I-25 so we need to completely close the highway later tonight to complete the repairs.”

During the closure from 11 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., motorists on northbound I-25 will exit onto Alameda Avenue and will follow the detour signs to Santa Fe Drive. Once on Santa Fe Drive, head north to Cedar Avenue and take a left for access to northbound I-25.

Major delays are expected on I-25 and alternate routes are strongly advised.  CDOT would like to remind motorists to obey all construction signs and flaggers and to “Slow for the Cone Zone.” Most fines for infractions that occur in the work zone will be doubled.
