Railroad Repairs Extended – Highway 67 Remains Closed

February 13, 2015 - Southeastern Colorado/CDOT Region 2 - FLORENCE, CO – State Highway (SH) 67 remains closed at the south end of Florence until at least the close of business today or, if necessary, through the weekend, for railroad crossing work.

The Union Pacific Railroad did not complete the resurfacing of its crossing and replacement of its badly-worn tracks under the original four-day schedule that began Monday.  Highway 67 originally was expected to reopen late Thursday.

While the highway is closed, the following marked detour will be in place:

  • TRAVELING SOUTH ON HIGHWAY 67 - South on Railroad Street from SH 67, right on South Union Street, left on Moore Drive (CR 35X), and back to SH 67.
  • TRAVELING NORTH ON HIGHWAY 67 – Left on Moore Drive, right on South Union, left on Railroad, and back to SH 67.
