Open house scheduled for SH 133 Carbondale to Redstone project

April 15, 2015 - Northwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 3 - Project impacts will be discussed

GARFIELD/PITKIN COUNTIES– On Thursday, April 23, the Colorado Department of Transportation and the contractor team, Oldcastle SW Group, will host an open house to discuss ongoing construction on Highway 133 between Redstone and Carbondale. The public is encouraged to attend to learn more about the project and anticipated impacts occurring this summer.

PROJECT OVERVIEW -The project consists of rock wall scaling, guardrail upgrades, bridge deck and rail repairs and replacement, chip seal road overlay,pavement marking and safety improvements. Work begins at approximately MP 50, south of Redstone and continues north 16.30 miles to approximately MP 66.30, south of the town of Carbondale. A pilot car service will be implemented at times during this project to minimize traffic delays. This $4.07 million dollar project was awarded to Oldcastle SW Group of Grand Junction, Colorado and is scheduled to be complete by mid-September 2015.

TRAVEL IMPACTS- Lane closures will occur for the duration of the project and speeds will be reduced to 35 MPH through the work zone.
