Rock Work to Delay Traffic This Week

FREMONT COUNTY — The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will be conducting rock scaling operations along U.S. 50, about 20 miles west of Cañon City, on Tuesday, May 26, and Wednesday, May 27, requiring traffic stops up to 20 minutes each day. 

Beginning at 9 a.m. and continuing until 5 p.m., drivers should anticipate traffic stops throughout the day on eastbound and westbound Highway 50 as crews remove loose rock above the highway and remove a large rock from the shoulder area.

The traffic stops are necessary to maintain safety for the traveling public.
