Work to Begin on SH 85 North of Ault on June 15

June 8, 2015 - Northeastern Colorado/CDOT Region 4 - Road surface replacement will result in smoother ride.

WELD COUNTY — The Colorado Department of Transportation on June 15 will begin work on SH 85 from Ault to the Wyoming state line to resurface the roadway, add shoulders, rumble strips, pipe work, road closure gates at Ault and Nunn, and a weather station at Nunn.

Project work begins at mile marker 281 and extends approximately 30 miles north to the Wyoming state line at mile marker 309.5. All work on the project will be completed by Oct. 15, 2016. Connell Resources of Fort Collins will perform as prime contractor on this $19 million project.

TRAVEL IMPACTS: Travelers should expect delays on SH 85 during road improvements. Pilot cars will direct travelers through the single-lane closures. Construction work hours will run from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. No night or weekend work is planned. Speeds will be reduced to 40 mph through the project and width restrictions of 12 feet will be in place during working hours.
