Colorado Department of Transportation Releases C-470 Corridor Revised Environmental Assessment for Public Comment
DOUGLAS COUNTY – The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) announces the signing of the C-470 Corridor Revised Environmental Assessment (Revised EA), Kipling Parkway to I-25 (July 2015) by CDOT and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), and the release of the document for public review and comment.
The FHWA and CDOT seek to make improvements to C-470 that relieve congestion, decrease delays and improve travel reliability. The proposed improvements would add one tolled express lane in each direction between I-25 and Kipling Parkway, and a second tolled express lane westbound between I-25 and Lucent Boulevard, and eastbound between Broadway and I-25. These new lanes, plus new auxiliary lanes where warranted, would supplement the existing non-tolled general purpose lanes. The project also includes pavement re-construction, alignment improvements and direct-connect ramps at the C-470 and I-25 interchange.
The public review and comment period for the Revised EA begins Wednesday, July 29, 2015, and will continue through Friday, September 11, 2015. The complete document is available in electronic format on the CDOT website at www.codot.gov/projects/
