I-25 Express Lanes Closed This Weekend

August 13, 2015 - Denver Metro/CDOT Region 1 - Paving and bridge work requires full closure Aug. 14 –17; 20th Street Bridge rehabilitation also begins.

DENVER, CO – The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will close the I-25 Express Lanes from downtown Denver to US 36 starting at 8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 14 and reopening at 5 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 17. The closure is necessary for paving and bridge work in the area.

Weather permitting, additional I-25 Express Lane single lane restrictions are anticipated Aug. 17-21 and Aug. 24-28. Additional full closures may be required the weekends of Aug. 22-23 and Aug. 29-30.

The rehabilitation of the 20th Street Bridge over I-25 is also beginning and will require the lanes on the bridge to be narrowed and shifted to accommodate the bridge construction, Mondays through Fridays. The bridge will also be closed to the public during weekend work periods.

Work is scheduled to begin on Friday, Aug. 14. at 8 p.m. and will continue through mid-September. Most of this work will require crews to work on the weekends beginning at 8 p.m. on Fridays and ending at 5 a.m. on Mondays. If night work is necessary, it will be limited to a specific distance away from any residents to try to minimize noise disruption. For all Rockies home games, the structure will remain open to outbound traffic for two hours after the game ends.
