US 50/Orchard Mesa resurfacing project open house scheduled tomorrow

September 15, 2015 - Northwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 3 - Public invited to meet project team and learn about design and project plans.

MESA COUNTY – The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) and the City of Grand Junction will host a public open house Wednesday, September 16, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in Grand Junction at the Mesa County Fairgrounds, Building C. Representatives from CDOT and the City of Grand Junction will be on hand to discuss the project design and ultimate construction plans.

The project limits are from South Avenue in downtown Grand Junction to east of 29 Road in Orchard Mesa.  Several factors about the project will be discussed including:

  • Highway improvements

  • Access control modifications

  • Resurfacing, roadway drainage improvements

  • ADA upgrades

  • A new raised median at South Avenue and reconstruction of the existing raised median from south of the Colorado River to east of the B1/2 Road overpass

  • Guardrail adjustments and safety upgrades
