Daytime Double Lane Closure on WB I-70 over Kipling St. on Sunday

October 23, 2015 - Denver Metro/CDOT Region 1 - DENVER—In order to waterproof and pave the westbound I-70 bridge over Kipling Street, the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will implement lane closures on Sunday, Oct. 25.

A single lane closure will begin at 10 a.m. and a double lane closure will begin at 1 p.m. The roadway will reopen to all lanes of travel by 5 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 26.

"We understand that this work will have impacts on motorists this weekend, but we're working hard to get these important repairs complete before winter weather arrives," said Paul Jesaitis, CDOT Region 1 Transportation Director. "It our responsibility to ensure the safety of the traveling public and we must address our aging infrastructure in order to do so."

This bridge repair is part of a larger $1.9 million project that repairs three structures total: I-70 and Kipling Street, I-70 and 32nd Avenue, and I-76 and York Street. This Sunday's work will complete the I-70 and Kipling Street bridge repair.
