Permanent Turn Restriction from Fillmore Begins Sunday

November 6, 2015 - Southeastern Colorado/CDOT Region 2 - COLORADO SPRINGS – Left turns from Fillmore Street to Sinton Road are coming to an end this weekend.

On Sunday, Nov. 8, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., intermittent lane closures can be expected on eastbound and westbound Fillmore Street as it is restriped to prohibit left turns to Sinton Road, just east of Interstate 25.  Access to I-25 and to locations east and west of I-25 on Fillmore will remain during this time period.

The left turn prohibition is permanent to enhance traffic safety through the area.  A center median will be installed to replace the restrictive striping next year as part of the I-25/Fillmore Interchange Reconstruction Project.

Right turns still will be permitted from Fillmore to Sinton.

During the same time period Sunday, intermittent lane closures will take place on the northbound I-25 off-ramp to Fillmore Street for paving before ramp widening work gets underway.

The interchange is scheduled for completion in summer 2016.
