Work to begin on US 50 west of Gunnison

November 2, 2015 - Weather permitting, crews plan to mobilize tomorrow, Nov. 3.

GUNNISON COUNTY —Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) has approved the go ahead on a resurfacing project in Gunnison County.  The project limits are from mile point 139-144.5. Both the driving lanes and shoulders will be resurfaced by rotomilling the top inch of roadway surface followed by a two inch hot mix asphalt paving.

TRAFFIC IMPACTS: Traffic will be restricted to one lane both westbound and eastbound as the work progresses.  A pilot car will be used to manage traffic in the one lane configuration and 15 minute delays can be expected.

Once the paving is complete the project will wrap up by adding rumble strips, shoulder gravel and pavement markings. Weather permitting, the work should be completed by the end of November 2015.
