Nighttime Ramp Closures Set for Oct. 17-18 on Santa Fe at C-470

DENVER—From 10 p.m. - 5 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 17 and Tuesday, Oct. 18, the Santa Fe on- and off-ramps to eastbound C-470 will be closed.

These closures allow pre-construction geotechnical borings for the C-470 Express Lanes project. The borings will collect subsurface soil samples at various depths to inform structural engineering for the upcoming construction project.

About the C-470 Express Lanes Project
The purpose of the C-470 Express Lanes Project is to improve the safety and mobility of a critical 12-mile stretch of C-470. Additional capacity will be constructed as Express Lanes. Other improvements include:

  • auxiliary lanes at selected locations;
  • ramp and safety improvements;
  • widening of existing bridges within the project area;
  • replacing bridges over the South Platte River; and
  • installing intelligent transportation system elements and construction grade separations for the multi-use trail at South Colorado Boulevard and South Quebec Street.

All work is weather dependent.

Traffic Impacts
Detours will direct traffic to the on- and off-ramps at Lucent Boulevard via West County Line Road. Variable message signs will be posted through Tuesday, Oct. 18.
