Two Week Closure of CO 60A To Begin Monday

March 17, 2017 - Northeastern Colorado/CDOT Region 4 - Signed detour routes in place for motorists

Loveland — From Monday, March 20, to Friday, March 31, Colorado State Highway 60A will have a full closure near the I-25 Frontage Road, also known as County Road 5, as construction crews replace a concrete culvert and irrigation pipe under the highway.

Detour signs will be in place to guide motorists around the two-week closure. Motorists traveling westbound on CO 60 will be detoured north onto I 25 Frontage Road to then continue west on E County Road 16. Those traveling eastbound on CO 60 will be detoured north onto CR 5 to continue east on E County Road 16.

The work is a part of a project to maintain the road surface and improve safety along CO 60 from US Highway 287 to Milliken. This is a heavily traveled route by large truckers. The current irrigation pipe has deteriorated and needs to be replaced to maintain the structural integrity of the highway. Agreements with local water management entities require the pipe, and the concrete material around it to be functional by April 1.

Coulson Excavating, of Loveland is the contractor for the $5.5 million project.
