Daytime Ramp Closures on US 50 & CO 96/47 Interchange extended due to unexpected road conditions

October 24, 2017 - Southeastern Colorado/CDOT Region 2 -  Pueblo, CO - Road construction will require the closure of the ramps at the CO 96 (East 4thStreet)/Highway 50/CO 47 interchange.

The closures which are in place during the day beginning at 7 a.m. and reopening at 7 p.m.each night, started Wednesday, October 18th and will continue each day through Monday, October 30th. The ramps will be open every night as well as over the weekend of October 28th and 29th .  Motorists be directed to use Troy Avenue and Pete Jimenez Road as a detour.  The closures are necessary for crews to do roadway resurfacing.

This work is part of the $10 million, CO 96 (4th Street) improvement project which includes, intersection renovation, signal replacement, resurfacing, and bridge rehabilitation.  Work began in July and will improve surface quality, enhance safety and provide improved pedestrian crossings, including upgrading ADA ramps to current standards.  The project is scheduled to be complete by the end of 2017.
